Aaron Shact is the Generative AI Visualization Supervisor at Amazon Studios Virtual Production (ASVP).
Aaron’s VFX career began in 2011 when - between screenwriting gigs - he talked his way into a temp job answering phones at industry powerhouse Digital Domain.
This stint at DD eventually grew into an 8-year career detour that culminated in Aaron earning an Emmy nomination as a Creative Director for Digital Domain’s Commercials and Special Projects division.
Prior to that adventure, Aaron attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts. After graduating, Aaron worked on set and in the art departments of over 60 movies, commercials, and music videos for directors including Ridley Scott and Spike Jonze.
Since then, Aaron's entertainment production experience has included directing commercials, writing video game trailers, creating virtual human holograms, and developing Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) experiences. Aaron's recent work includes writing and/or directing projects for Google Home, Activision, the NBA, Charles Schwab, Nike, the UFC, and DC Films.
In early 2022, Aaron completed the short film ‘Lost & Found’ as part of the Epic Unreal Virtual Production Fellowship. Aaron also participated in Epic’s first In-Camera Visual Effects (ICVFX) Fellowship.
Aaron’s current focus is developing AI and machine-learning tools for visualization at Amazon MGM Studios.
